how it all started
In 2019 a few core players from Rovers FC ( first Manitoba Senior Men's Provincial Futsal Champions ) decided to take the team in different direction and rebrand. They wanted to build a team to represent what they wanted to do for Manitoba: Develop and establish a flourishing futsal community in Winnipeg and throughout Manitoba. They wanted to be Manitoba’s pioneers of futsal. Which brings us to the name - Pioneers FC.

We strive to set the standard for futsal innovation, providing opportunities for players of all ages and backgrounds to grow, compete, and lead the future of the game in our province.

Pioneers Futsal Club is dedicated to elevating futsal in Manitoba by providing elite training for Men’s, Women’s, and Youth athletes. Rooted in Brazilian, Portuguese, and European futsal traditions, we strive to grow the game locally through high-level competition, national exposure, and expanding opportunities for travel, youth camps, and development across all levels.

Pioneers FC launched its first women’s team in 2020, the inaugural year that provincials opened to women. Through their passion and dedication, they not only raised the level of futsal in Manitoba but also helped pave the way for the women’s competition to expand nationally in 2024. Once named Legacy then later merged to Pioneers FC. With multiple provincial titles and a national silver medal, our women’s team has set the standard early, they are true pioneers of women’s futsal in Canada.
